Sustainable fashion made to be worn easily and loved always
Amber & Ayesha is proud to be part of the slow fashion movement.
We create pieces that are beautiful and unique by using fabric printed by hand by skilled artisans and crafting it in our own studio. Our kimonos are made from second-hand sari silk, repurposed in our studio into things of beauty with skill and design.
We are offering something rare within the fashion industry. When customers buy our pieces we want them to know their provenance and value the ethos of fair trade and sustainability with which they were created.
When you value something you look after it, wear it with joy and treasure it.

Why Block Printing?
I fell in love with hand block printed patterns when I went to stay with Farzana and Danish in 2016. Farzana is, of course, rightly proud of the 500 year old tradition that is still practiced in Rajasthan and took us to the block printing factory where our fabric is now made.
The process begins with the blocks. Made of Indian rosewood, the carving of blocks is done by highly skilled artisans. Each block prints just one colour in a design. For an intricate and colourful pattern a block is carved for each colour.

Our Ethos - Working Environment
Central to the whole ethos of Amber & Ayesha is that our clothes are produced ethically.
When we began this project Farzana knew a block printing company, but wanted to be sure it was a fair employer. She took a job designing clothing for them and conducting tours in English for tourists so she could understand the factory and how it operated. We know first hand that workers there are paid fairly and proportionally to their skills as artisans and the working environment is safe, light and airy.
